As an athlete, I spend a lot of time in my day thinking, planning, and analyzing. This is important as it connects us to who we are and what were are trying to achieve. There’s another side to sport, too. Your event may only take five seconds, four minutes, a few hours, or, in some cases, an entire day. But there’s a moment where time and thought seem to slide into a different place. There’s a cue, a practiced behaviour, a connection to the timing system….and everything becomes quiet, the countdown goes, and it’s just you, your bike, and the venue.
